venomfangx Give Him Another Chance

venomfangx is a young man who makes videos about his Christian faith and Creation Science. He in fact has more subscribers on youtube than the Vatican. Quite an accomplishment. However many of his older videos got a lot of people talking. Archive of his older videos www.youtube.com In his older videos he posted videos on creationism relying heavily on Kent Hovind’s matterial. This sparked the growth of many channels from people in the science community who were able to refute these videos. venomfangx also made a series of videos mocking Islam with himself playing Allah dressed as Batman for some reason. He has twice claimed to have received death threats and has shut his channel down several times because of this. Many doubt the truth of the death threats however I am giving him the benefit of the doubt. Especially when you consider such videos on Islam as this one. www.youtube.com In other videos he stated the holocaust was God’s judgement. www.youtube.com Now as a former fundamentalist Christian, I am embarrased to admit I used to have many of these same beliefs. However with age, experience, and a willingness to look at my own views and re-evaluate them, I have matured. venomfangx has said some very hurtful and offensive things. However, so have I in the past. The next phase of venomfangx involves his fued with Thunderf00t over the DMCA. I don’t wish to detail in this description here but there is a difference between copyright law and youtube’s policy on copyright …

Yes, and even though this video was quite critical of him it was one of the few video responses that was approved when his channel was still up. That being said, I look kind of foolish in this video now.

The difference I think is that most other creationists on youtube have their message attacked. VenomfangX is the only one where the main target of the attack his VenomfangX himself.

PS: I do think your wrong about why VFX initially got so many detractors. There are a lot of people like me who are concerned about the rise of a philosophy that preaches anti-science and unreason as a virtue.
Sure there have always been people who think that way but it’s seems to me that over the last decade or so it has coalesed into an organised push eminating from the southern US. Given issues such as AGW I think this philosophy is self evidently dangerous and I am compelled to attack it.

Personally I belive he is the victim of a cult as much as he is a leader of one. I also admire the way Tunderfoot handled him, he could have pressed charges but getting him to publicly admit he was wrong was far better lesson in life for VFX.
Also you have an infectious laugh but unfortunately the source of your amusement is no longer available.

I don’t think you are a fool, I think you have a reasonable perspective on the gravity of his crimes (and they are crimes). if I were a judge and VFX came before me on fraud charges for what he did I would give him a 100hrs of community service. In fact I was thinking about him washing bed pans just before you mentioned the community service.

I think it was very nice of you to try and give him a second chance. Sure, he blew it, but that is not your business. You extended the “olive-leaf” so to speak, and in my mind you are a good person. I may even stop flagging your videos.

And there is nothing wrong with that. Its ok to be wrong. Wrong does not equate to ‘fool’. What equates to ‘fool’ is being wrong and adamantly refusing to accept the possibility of being wrong even in the face of evidence/proof to the contrary. Nothing foolish in learning how and why one is wrong, especially when you grow from it in a positive manner.

But the thing is I was wrong. Flat out wrong. I cant undo it. Sometimes I just put out videos that wind up making me look bad. It is just part of life.

If you’re being honest in your assessment, then I’d have to say, in my opinion, no. You’re willingness to accept the possibility that you might be wrong is more then enough for me to think your not a fool. That willingness is one of many things I’m sure, that separates you from the closed minded foolishness Venomfangx seems to suffer.

Shawn made it clear that he was less then sincere when he chose to use deceit, and fraud to bring his message to the community. He demonstrated that he was willing to do the shadiest things to get his point out there. Even if he does “reform” he has given up his right to be respected as a messenger to his Christianity. -

WTF is that supposed to be? I have never heard of a “Creation Science” discipline. Creationism can’t even qualify as a hypothesis, let alone a science discipline. -

As a Christian, how VFX is conducting himself is appaulling. He is no better than a charlatan tele-evangelist in his tactics, and like them, point fingers everywhere else, saying they are evil and attacking him. Jim Baker, Jim Swaggart, and Jim Jones all said come to me, give me your money, oh and we’ll create a utopia. Once a critic hits their orbit, it’s all about shooting them down. VFX is doing exactly the same thing. Now he’s exposed for being a fraud, like them.

Her GoGreen18 account is inactive for the most part but she is posting a video there later on today. Her videos now appear on LaciGreen and are mostly fun random vlogs. Anyway I am sending the video to you via PM.

GoGreen18 challenged Shawn. Correct. He told her off in a blunt way, blunt but honest. I don’t approve or like that style of proselytizing. Compared to atheist proselytizing it’s mild. Two wrongs don’t make a right however. Shawn just should have ignored Atheist, but he could not resist, took it personal, attacked. It only feeds atheist hate of God.
I noticed GoGreen18′s atheist channel is inactive & admitted she was an angry girl venting in the past? She’s growing up. Good.

As far as why they give Islam a pass you would have to ask them. However there was a big video by Philhellenes that was removed by youtube. There are hundreds of copies “What Islam Fears: Laughter”

You seem fair & honest. I didn’t follow the whole ugly mess, but I read and see the YT Atheist Church input, some AWFUL, VILE stuff. He said Holocaust was Judgment of God? NOT BIBLICAL and stupid if he did. I’d have to hear the context. Few Christians are against Jews and think the JEWS crucified Jesus is not the PLAN of God himself. Not only should Christians not hate Jews we should and do protect them. What video was that?Why do Atheist give Islam a pass 99% of the time? Hum

Examples of hurtful things said by VFX include his response to GoGreen18, his video on the Holocaust being the judgement of God, and his response to 10 questions every inteligent Christian should answer. I was not aware that Coughlan had aids, that is quite a shame.
