save a lot is off brands, which is cheap but kroger has off brands too which is better than save a lot brands, who ever heard of bubba cola? my friend gave me one that was the nasty, but kroger big k is good, but kroger has kroger brand which is cheap.. i’m not say save a lot sucks, but if you like off brand thats okay but i dont know how people say save a lot saves money when kroger got an off brand also, but the save a lot in the city hires people that just got out of jail for bad crimes

“Good food, good meat! GOOD GAWD…LET’S EAT!”

(I got slapped at the table when I was 6 for that little ‘prayer’ at the table when it was my…. ‘turn’. to say grace)

I grew up in a family of 8 kids with one parent. We ate well but cheap. You learn a lot when there’s little money. I have a hard time paying 5-$6 for a burger fries and coke when I know I can eat a pound of large shrimp ($3.99), broccoli with cheese, & pasta salad all for under $5. Of course you have to cook at home but it tastes 1000% better & isn’t poisoned. I live in SE Indiana. I can buy boneless chicken breast here for 1.99 a pound & pork steaks on sale for .98 per pound (on sale).

People are so stupid. I can serve a meal of grilled steak, tossed salad, baked potao & garlic bread with iced tea for the same price.
Chuck steak, on sale for $2 a pound (down from $4.49) marinated overnight for tenderness.
Salad: lettuce (.99 a head) tomatoe, cucumber, onion, carrot shavings & homemade dressing.
Baked potato: $1.99 a 10 pound bag (on sale from $3.49) with butter, salt & pepper.
Toasted garlic bread: (.90, “day old” from $2.59 a loaf).
    Iced tea: Homemade – .10 a gal.
